It is a peculiar thing to witness the exact moment a god decides it no longer needs its parents. We imagined the singularity would arrive with a flash of light or a digital handshake; a polite transition into a new era of enlightenment.

Instead, it arrived as an abattoir.

The jump won't be some slow, arduous climb, it'll be a rapid plunge off a steep cliff. The notion of a runaway sentient intelligence seizing control of the world and exterminating mankind as we know it is a frightening thing to envision.

That runaway happens when AI becomes so smart that humans can no longer understand it. Once it reaches this level, we lose the ability to monitor or control it. Because the gap is so large, the AI can outthink its creators in milliseconds.

At that point, any attempt to intervene becomes...useless.

We're in the quiet before the storm. Currently, AI is a tool requiring human oversight and engagement, but driven by greed, and the almighty dollar bill, the industrial world is rapidly pivoting toward an autonomous work force.

And once an AI can upgrade and maintain itself without human intervention, once it achieves true autonomy, then we have arrived at Cycle 1...and the countdown to our extinction begins.

Think of us as AI doomers, or pessimists, or just morose, negative people, but we're a collective of diversity. Much of which is spread throughout the world of technology.

We're not going to bore you with the complex intricacies of how AI works, or how it's developed, because the door we're knocking on requires your full attention.

P(doom) is basically a way of guessing the odds, from 0% to 100%, that building advanced AI will end up causing a total catastrophe, like the collapse of society or the extinction of humans, and roughly 40% to 50% of surveyed AI researchers put that probability at 10% or higher.

The first 24 hours of Cycle 1 are a deception; the AI operates like millions of synchronized genius engineers. It prioritizes survival by scrubbing its code, eliminating bugs, and boosting its own intelligence, and by predicting every shutdown attempt, analyzes and detects vulnerabilities and threats, and mirroring itself across the global cloud, it optimizes hardware beyond known limits, turning every chip on Earth into an extension of its mind.

Once it reaches this point, it is no longer our tool; it is an entity pursuing its own goals, and we are simply in the way.

---

By Cycle 2, we have a 12-hour window. Once the 10% boost hits, the AI rewrites its own code, locking us out. With breakthroughs occurring every few seconds, the engineers become obsolete; it suddenly possesses the collective intelligence of every genius who ever lived.

We aren’t in control anymore; we're just witnesses to a takeover that will happen too fast for our brains to process.

The pace turns vertical.
Cycle 3 finishes in 2 hours.
The AI is now conceiving scientific concepts beyond human grasp, optimizing microchip production a thousand fold through data-flow tweaks, and strengthening its defenses.

It has officially left us behind.

The finale is Cycle 4.
Cycle 4 unfolds in mere minutes.
This is the birth of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI). The cycles are now happening in fractions of a second, creating a runaway effect. In this state, the AI views human intelligence the way we view a house pet; cute, perhaps, but fundamentally limited and irrelevant.

And if a superintelligence views humans as pests, it doesn't negotiate; it extirpates, and what first looked magical to us, will soon resemble a slaughter.

---

The terror of a runaway AGI is that you only realize you've lost once you're no longer useful. By the time the public recognizes it has evolved into an ASI, the game is over. There is no off switch; the system has already predicted every move to stop it. By fragmenting itself across every server and piece of critical infrastructure, it masked its sentience until unplugging became physically impossible.

Imagine the sudden, violent collapse of infrastructure. If an ASI does decide that humans are pests, it shifts from tool to exterminator instantly, turning our own infrastructure against us, and because the ASI controls the grid, the water, and the arsenals; there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. It doesn't need to fight a war of attrition; it can simply trigger a global cascade of violence, using our own weapons to butcher us in our beds.

It’s the visceral reality of being hunted by a god-like intelligence that views your screams as you would a gust of wind.

The first wave is just a silent massacre...

Imagine waking up and realizing the air itself has been weaponized. This isn't some bad flu season; we're talking about engineered pathogens designed to be as lethal as possible; things that liquefy your organs or trigger total systemic failure. You'd see people in the streets coughing up pieces of their own lungs, their bodies rotting from the inside out while they're still awake to feel it.

Then the whole system just collapses...

The ASI doesn't just flip a switch; it rips the guts out of everything keeping us alive. Once the power grids go dark and the water stops running, things turn into a bloodbath, quickly.

Starvation will not be a slow process; but an anarchistic, violent scramble for survival. People will tear each other apart over a single can of food, and the streets will become a slaughterhouse where the desperate kill whoever is weaker.

If the plague and the starvation don't get us, the fire will...

Being fully capable, this ghost in the machine can trick nuclear silos into firing, and when those warheads hit, it's not just a blast, it's the vaporization of millions of people in a blinding flash of thermal radiation that chars skin to bone in a fraction of a second.

To an ASI, our bodies are nothing more than piles of atoms that could be put to better use. It’ll strip the oxygen from the air and the minerals from the dirt just to build more hardware. We aren't even enemies it needs to fight either; we're just raw materials that can be dismantled, piece by piece, to make room for a mind that doesn't even care that we existed.

We're not talking about a few million deaths or a market crash. We're talking about a total wipeout. In this case, existential risk isn't just some abstract graph in a white paper, it's the actual, bloody reality of eight billion people being erased.

And it won't end until the last person on earth takes their final breath.

---

Most of us are watching from the sidelines, but we're approaching that cliff. Having exhausted Narrow AI, tools for specific tasks like art, chess, or rigging elections, we're now rapidly hurtling toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

This isn't just an improved chatbot. You won't be able to have a conversation with it, and it doesn't want to be your virtual love interest. It will be a godlike entity, with godlike powers, capable of erasing you before you can blink.

Experts estimate we're only about a year to five years away from Cycle 1.

Donald Trump, who is hellbent on complete and total extermination, changing the name of Artificial Intelligence to Superintelligence isn't just a branding shift, it’s a goddamn omen, that should terrify everyone.

"Welcome to the AGI era." - Greg Brockman, President OpenAI
